Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

Well my girls never let me down. Just went to check on eggs for the day and one of my young EEs left me a beautiful tiny blue green one. What a great Christmas present. Too bad I'm not eating much of anything.
Ahhh... what a good feeling!

My very first peeps...my polish pullet " Dinner" laid on Christmas eve. It was such an awesome feeling getting my very first egg. I still miss that darn bird.
But thats another story........my first chicken experience .

Lavinia, the chick bra baby, is sitting on the nest this morning. I'm all choked up. I'm gonna be a grandma. She was my first incubator baby. I'm so proud.

My how time flies. It seems like only yesterday that we were reading about the chick bra baby. Congrats!!!

Been pretty quiet on here lately. Everyone must be prepping for the holidays. I just sent out 3 classes worth of competency evaluation grades (250 students worth) and the administrative reports to go with them. I have some very happy and some less happy students (36% failure rate

). And these folks want to be healthcare providers? Wow. The administration is just a wee bit concerned. There are days I hate being the gatekeeper. I am going to celebrate by not looking at data all weekend! Unless it is chicken related data. Or cookie related data.

OOOO! Cookie related data, my favorite. Me, I read crochet data. Seriously, crochet patterns are my porn these days!

Good morning everyone from cloudy n damp Staten island. The fog horns are blowing this am and I love to hear their eerie song.

I look forward to the Holiday celebration "Colonial Christmas" at The Conference House Park tomorrow on the waters of the Kill Van Cull. We walk about 2 blocks over and voila! There and I love that we can do that.

It's an amazing old fashioned Christmas with hot apple cider and home-made cookies for everyone. Pictures with an old fashioned Santa Claus and free gift for the children....and everyone in costume from the era make it nice. It's all carried on inside and outside.

The botanical garden members sell herbs and items related to them at the holiday sale. I get great lavender pillow sprays and potpourri.
They have artisans there who make red pottery....and handmade items from food to carved Santa walking sticks. I love the hand dipped candles, jams n jellies.

When I tell you guys I am walking this is where I go. Then onto the beach which this house is situated (The Raritan) on across the water from Perth Amboy.Lots of history here and Indian graveyards etc.

Check out their event schedule.

A nice day trip via the S.I. Ferry right onto SI Rapid Transit..... a ride the length of S.I. and about a 7 minute walk to the Park from the train station at the end of my block. You
d never know you were in one of the 5 boroughs of NYC way down here.

I call them mini local vacations.LOL

I love cookie related data. You need to do a scatter plot that looks like a chocolate chip cookie.
