Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

Ok, so here is close to final. I kept the word "the" in because it balanced out everything. I might still take it out. First is distressed, second version isn't. Any preference?

Hubby doesn't care for the design or idea much but I am running out of time to do anything else.

If you went to a poultry show, might you buy one of these on impulse or no? I can take it if you feel it won't sell.

I'm likin the distressed one. I am not a good barometer on sales though as I've never even been to a poultry show.

Hubby's.....never like what we do when we do it oreven usually why we do it .......so his opinion doesn't count right. ?????

Ya know I don't wear t-shirts..... but if I did I'd for sure buy yours. They just don't look good on me. But yours really are awesome.

I have a very old, very red trumpet vine growing out front. These colors in the photo have been enhanced thanks to Instagram but you can see that the red matches the bright red color of the hummingbird feeder and also the very red chairs. I really love our trumpet vine. I definitely heard it calling our name when we first pulled up in front of this house 4.5 years ago. The plant was alive with bees and probably even hummingbirds but I didn't know about them until the last 2 years.

Ahhhh…
Just beautiful and what I have in mind for the front of my house. I need red too. I have little red painted hearts (dh did them at risk to life and limb) in the 4 gable peeks of my gothic revival type house. I need red accents.

Wow. Lots of posts to catch up on.

I have green thumb envy. I have come to the realization that I am NOT a gardener. Lousy soil, no patience and no eye. My gardens are always half-well, you know. Having said that, though... Heather, if you want to dig up a plant or fruit tree and allow me to put it in my yard, I promise to lavish loving care on it in a special Bird Nerd corner.

Donna, I am always bowled over by your vision. I am SO not a visual person and I'm very impressed by how you see things. Your avatar is perfect.

I like the new Tshirt, but I think the "Chicken ShiRt" will sell better. Maybe a chicken graphic on the shirt too? Like the one on the chicken scratch items. Or not. I will bring my collection so people can see other options they can order online.

So far I have 34 chicks done. When I get to 50, I want to line them all up in rows and take a picture of my "flock"! I'm shooting for 10 of the WCBP and 10 BOs, and 5 each of the BCM, BR, SS, WL and RIR, plus 10 mixed (some black, some pale yellow, some grey, some flecked). Three of my tutoring clients have asked me to make chicks for them, too. I started making "body parts" in advance - wings, combs, beaks and eyes - and putting them in baggies. It makes the process faster if I don't have to stop the "body work" to make the bits that get sewn on. Now when Bobby comes into the living room and asks what I'm doing, I tell him I'm hatching.

Yes, just like the jewelry, you have to figure out the production line so assembly is at its optimum.
And I don't even think having purebreds even matters. It's the mutt you can't have!
Of course, I find other things to do, and haven't made anything for the past 3 days. Bad CFG!
But I found someone to share my room, CHECK!
A man found ME from last years exhibitors list. He wants to buy my Dragon. CHECK!
He called someone else, the birds bought as a trio would be $100 each, plus shipping.
I told him $50 for him, and $20 for his sisters.
I love that Shamo to death, but that's the reason I MUST get rid of him.
He will kill. And has almost killed Clyde 3 times, I can't even show him any more he is so busted up.
And if I keep them separated, Clyde will have a heart attack just looking at him.
I gave a few to a friend, they went to live up in CT. One of the males killed the other one.
Shamos are not "flock" birds. Don't get them.

I hear peeping from my incubator.
Oops, one of my 3 incubators. Shoot me now.
Want to take a guess how many my DH will kill with me gone for 3 days?
A free pair of earrings shipped, to the winner!
I'm not kidding, Every time I go away, something is dead when I get home.

ok so what ya hatchin out????? I wanna see!

After seeing those BCM eggs, I want to get one in the spring. But NO HATCHING for me. I will buy me a sexed female or POL pullet.

Bobby wants to get rid of Helen, the Light Sussex hen I hatched in May. She's a good layer, but aggressive with the other hens and with a distinctive egg song that gets on his nerves. Helen was Ben's "girlfriend" and I think she misses him.

I thought about bringing her to Springfield to see if I can sell her. Do you think that will work, CFG?
