I really want to go to the show this weekend, but I am just not sure if I can swing it. I would have to pick up my DH at work on the way (at 12 am on Sat) then drive to Springfield, get a couple of hours of sleep to get there early, with kid in tow (or I can leave her with DH at the hotel to sleep in). I just don't know. I am also really worried about leaving the house for 2 days. The last time we left it unattended it got robbed (by my neighbors kid, who is out of jail awaiting indictment and back next door). Also, I have to have my uncle watch the birds and everytime I leave something dies. It isn't that I don't appreciate the help of others. It is just that others generally let me down. What to do, what do do?

I know exactly how you feel.
Every time I go away, there's always something dead when I get back.

Why don't you try to do it alone, let hubby watch the house?

Good mornoing!
Another foggy but tempid day here down south. I think my coop need a good cleaning so will get to that later on.

I was gifted with a little cage of 3 Society Finches this weekend. Wow, they are active and happy little birds. So tiny and the males sing such a beautiful song. I think I'll sew them up a seed guard as they sre are messy with all that fluttering going on.

Hey Maggi Finches are cute little buggers. Next you should get Lady Gouldian finches. I had a dozen years ago. They can live with society finches. Wow what colors on those babes & the song is really beautiful

Thanks. I could, but we were hoping for a bit of family time. We never get to see one another since he started working 2 - midnight. I will probably stick home if it is going to be freezing out. I imagine that would make for a very cranky 6 year old, not to mention hubby. Who knows, I might pack up at 4 and drive on over alone. I suppose I will see how I feel come the weekend. Take lots of pictures though!!!

Been sick for 3 weeks with sinus and double ear infection. Gonna miss the show again this yr.
Went to dr today. He told me to eat horse radish. It's actually helping. But I hate the taste. Ick.
