Chickens coming out to greet you. That's the way it should be. I have a chicken chair too in front of the run. I would sit there for hours when we first brought them outside. I fell asleep one day in the spring and the seed pods from our Japanese maple were floating off the tree. I woke up covered in those Polly- nose pods. Felt like Rip Van Winkle and thought I'd slept for years. Chickens have a calming effect.

I went to see my primary doctor today, with my son, who went for, guess what?...a SINUS infection! And, he also had bronchitis in his right lung too. So I asked the the doc for the 1200 calorie diet info so I could go back on it to lose some weight and get my BS stable again. Going to start it tonight. No more sneaking donuts...

The Golden Years should be renamed the "Lead Years," cause that's what I feel like!

Well Al,
I for one really appreciate your having started this group. And the more you tell us about you and your famliy..... the more I like you and your family.:<) Seems the more crosses we bare as we "grow up" the better we understand that "take each day as a gift" suggestion. Makes ya kinda appreciate the positive in each day eh?
My mom always said to me......."margaret, take care of the good and the bad will take care of itself". I don't think she was too far off.............

Feel better and keep up your good works. People need you. Oh....so do ypour chickens!

Dinner tonight with my daughter and her new boyfriend. We figured it was about time we got to know him better. I've only met him a couple of times, but he's awesome. And the best part is, he thinks my kid is too.
(which she is...)

Maggie: I always quoted my mother as saying, "Never worry about money. You can always find a way to make money." So I never did worry about money. I had some and had none, but never worried about it. And that was a great way to be. Then I thanked my mother for the advice and she told me she never said it! "Are you kidding, you should ALWAYS worry about money!". *sigh*

Oh well, it worked for me!

What is kinda cool is we all suffer, we all have problems, but sooner or later we realize a lot of others have the same (or worse) things going on that we do, and it puts things a bit better into perspective. At least for me.
I thank you all!
Gotta get ready for the show, and I am piling cages into the car. Trying to decide if I should load all the birds at 4am in the morning, or load them now, and have them poop all over themselves all night.
Decisions, decisions...
My DH always says, the time you have grown up, is the moment you realize that your parents were right.
Good night, all!

Yup...always the $$ thing. Are you Irish by any chance???
LOLOLMy mom now resides in a nursing home and denies I am even her child. NEED I say more.

She also said it "ain't a sin to be poor....but it is terribly inconvienent".

As most folksd.....I never have enough $$ and it's easier not to have it then have it when p[ush comes to shove......yea right?..........my extra $ each month (be it $2.00 or on sale cans of dog/cat food).....gets donated to my local NYC Animal Care And Control here. If I can't house them....then outta love maybe I can help to feed them while they look for homes. Dpn't tell my DH.
