Welcome, Harborview!  We're practically neighbors.  I'm in Huntington.  This is a great thread.  You will find friendship, knowledge and advice in abundance!  This is one great group of people.  Of course, we WILL need to see pictures of your chickens because we are all chick pic addicts! :D

Great to know that!

Welcome! I'm in Greenlawn! Great place you found with loads of nice and knowledgable peeps. Are your birds inside or out yet? If they are that young, they may still need to be kept indoors with a source of heat, especially if they aren't fully feathered. Just asking with concern for the wee lil ones. :D  Enjoy!!!
Kept them inside the coop for the first two weeks but read that they should be able to be out in the run. I do have a heat lamp hanging in case they were too cold. I find them sitting kin different parts of the run not necessarily under the lamp so I am assuming that they are feathering out more. They have the opportunity to go into the coop at will but choose to stay out. Also read that they will feather out quicker while out in the run. Thank you so much for your advice and concern. Keep it coming. :)

Welcome, Harvorview Hens. Great to have another chicken-head on board. You should love it here and find a load of new friends here. This is one amazing and friendly group. Of course, being a little crazy help you to fit in. Don't worrry, if you're not a bit crazy now, we'll help you get there.LOL. Seriously, you will enjoy it here.
Heather, I looked up the stuff on parsley last night, and it is very interesting. Let me know if you do find out anything you'd like to pass along. Everything helps.
The trip to the Zoo sounds like it could work, and im sure it will be lots of fun. It's pretty centrally located for all of us on this thread, too. Keep us posted.
Thanks Chicken Al. Both you and my husband share the same name. I think we are all an eccentric bunch to have and love chickens. But that is a good thing. I am sure that I will enjoy the ride!

Ok everyone put Dec 16th Sunday on your calendar.... Details and specific times to follow. Donna you saw the pics on Instagram so no peeping! ;-)

Today I had the pleasure of meeting our FGM Roberta live!

I am grateful for her un-planned visit cause it worked out so perfectly!

My bird now has what we should need to get her started on her road back to health.....and I want our FGM to know how much I appreciate her help.
Meeting face to face was a lot of fun and i hope we can do it again real soon
Your the best! I think you should change your lisense plaet to BYC-FGM.

Hello everyone, I am located on Long Island in Laurel Hollow on the North Shore near Oyster Bay. Just got my Chickens on Nov 17th. They are very young, supposedly 10 weeks but my son says much younger. Got them from Clark Farm Business in Higganum, CT. So far so good. Would like to give a shout out to Carolyn.. And would like to connect with local Long Islanders. Will be going to Florida next week. My husband will be tending the chickens while I am gone. Looking forward to your friendship, knowledge and advice.

Does anyone remember my story? It's gone away from my original idea quite a bit due to criticism from some people in the children's book industry. Here's the latest version, thoughts? Obviously, it's for very young ones. My plan is to submit the story and the 2 illustrations I did and see if anyone is interested, I sure hope so!

Where is that peep?
It’s time for some sleep.

Is he hiding in the book?
Let’s take a look!

Is he with Mr. Bee?
What do you see?

Is he with Mrs. Doe?
I’d sure like to know.

Is he with Mr. Cat?
I really doubt that!

Is he with Mr. Cow?
He’s not there now!

Is he with Mrs. Duck?
No such luck!

Is he with Mr. Fish?
Oh how I wish!

Is he with Mr. Sheep?
I don’t hear a peep!

Is he with Mrs. Hare?
I don’t see him there!

Is he in the red shed?
I think I see his head!

He’s asleep in the nest,
Who would have guessed!
Bravo I LOVE IT!!

It was great meeting you too, Maggie. But all the way home I was wondering if you should treat her for cocci instead.
If she doesn't show any improvement by say, tomorow night, switch to the Amprol.
