I also use a bbq scraper tool. It does work wonders! I have shelves that the girls seem to prefer in the cold weather, I guess because they can all snuggle together better there than on the roost board. The poop gets pretty thick on those shelves, but the scraper makes quick work of it. I have shallow plastic tubs on the floor under the roost board so I just scrape all the poop into them and dump them on the compost pile. The whole coop is clean in about 15 minutes, so I really can't complain.

Quote: 21 years ago my sister had her daughter named Jamie who had Down's. My golden retriever Casey Jones treated her the very same way. They kinda grew up together. We lost Jamie at 10 years old and casey as well. That made me cry.....bittersweet.
Oh Maggie, I'm so sorry to hear that your family lost Jamie...and so young. Here us a picture that I found and shared with a few of my friends who have children with Down Syndrome. I hope it brings a smile to your face as you think of Jamie. Hugs, Tina

And a snowy good morning to everyone.

My 21 yr. old has been down with the flu since Friday nite and now this morning that "other virus" in which you produce liquid steam from all possible bodily openings has reared it's ugly head. Ugh.........i won't get sick....repeat....i won't get sick.......he's been forbidden to touch anything ouitside his room.......as I put on gloves and mask.

Ack. I'm grateful just to be fighting a cold.

Everybody's gone. Peace reigns in the kingdom.

I was supposed to be spending the day with my cousin today, but she's sick, so I have an unexpectedly free day. At least until 3, when I go to tutor the first of 3 kids. Tuesday's my big day.

I'm loving the peace and quiet. And I'm boiling up a chicken carcass (a stranger) so the house smells good, too. A little dusting of snow outside. Ahhhh....

Suzanne, do you make little crochet baby hats?
We'll be grandparents the end of march and I want to give my dil and stepson some hand-made things. I quilt but no crochet. it's a boy .......
The baby shower is this weekend and I have what we need for that. but when the baby is born I want a hat/scarf or something like that to bring up to the hospital.

I LOVE doing baby stuff!

I have some patterns for cocoons - so cute! Little sacks with hats to match. Great for napping/snuggling...

Congratulations on your new grandbaby to be. I'm a little jealous...

I guess I need to focus on getting them engaged first. Or maybe just mind my own business.
