Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

I am posting the above picture of the Arlington Inn in Vermont to tell you all that Bobby and I will be getting married there on April 18. We're going to elope, just the two of us (and maybe Laura and Mike). We're very excited about it, although it feels a little weird that I'm going to be a wife again after 26 years!
Oh my gosh, how fabulous!!! Congratulations!!!!!

I'm open for the 13-14th if that's good for you guys

Ok, well as it turns out I have to go to Texas on the 15th, our closing is scheduled for the 16th and there is some painting & carpet buying to be done before we move all our stuff in. This is going to be so much fun.... not.

Hyacinth, I'm going to go ahead and put down that Saturday the 13th for our moving day, and if other folks want to come and help and be fed, see friends, have some tea & coffee, that would be lovely. No gifts, no pressure, just come if you can make it. We are in Harrison, NY very close to I-95 so hopefully a good half-way spot for anyone that wants to come and meet up.

I made custard with 6 eggs today, I'm starting to get the spring egg glut going on. Also put together a seed tray greenhouse with a plastic egg carton and some empty shells. The kids had fun doing it, I hope it works.

I did some yard work today and saw grubs. I can't wait until the end of the month and I bring my hens honw. Bon appetite!

Your hens will love you. lol

Hi all. Today's NY Times Book Review has a review written by my daughter, Jennifer Michael Hecht. It's on page ten. Way cool!

Carolyn, remember when you put together a list of the folks who participate regularly on this thead? Any chance that you could PM the list?

THAT SO COOL ABOUT YOUR DAUGHTER. WE HAVE A SECOND HOME IN SINKING SPRING PA, 5 MINS. FROM ADAMSTOWN. I LOVE SHOPPING ON THAT STRIP.  SUNDAY IS EVEN BETTER WHEN RENNINGERS IS OPEN. LAST WEEK IN APRIL SHUPS GROVE OPENS

Would you recommend this area for us to check out? We might like to have a small hobby farm...

Good morning peoples!

Here is to the sun that is peeking out of the clouds on this Friday before the Saint Patrick's Day weekend. I hope it doesn't rain tomorrow so the people attending the big parade in NYC can enjoy themselves. I do live in a large Irish community and we'll be smelling the corned beef cooking all weekend.

Mine is ready!

Well, Carol and I finally pulled off the great chicken caper and swapped chicks without a major blizzard occurring. It was funny though, as we chatted it was all sunny out, by the time I set out over the mountain to meet her it started to snow. All I could do was chuckle. At least it all cleared out by the time I drove back. The little naked neck "Nemo" and the silver seabright are settling nicely in the brooder and everyone seems to be friends already. I will try to post picks after I get the larger brooder together tonight (maybe tomorrow).
