Magsrags......not only are quail eggs a delicacy but also considered an aphrodisiac. Our sushi guy also made this comment when I would order salmon egg sushi with a raw quail egg ontop."OHHHH Papa San is going to be a happy man tonight" (Imagine this in a Mr. Miagi voice)

Hope all those ailing are feeling better. I wish I could go to the Sussex Show. I am an Orchid Judge and we have our monthly judging in Stamford, CT the 3rd Saturday of every month.

Well....I have to go and cook some delish eggs for my husband, he just got in from fishing.

Later....

If you guys happen to see Caleb at the show give him a happy birthday hug for me .
I feel sad not being able to talk to him. I really think he needs his chicken moms.

Congrats Mags. I really wish I had a broody .

Suzanne, how's your frizzle? Mine hasn't grown an inch. It's still the size of one of those fuzzy hamsters. If it turns out to be a roo I don't think you would hear it 3 feet away.

Here she is with Lucille, the GLW we picked up that day. I absolutely love the frizzle. It's hilarious watching her trot after the big girls.

Here's the news from my coop: My NJ babies are fully integrated into the flock with the big girls. No more pecking or chasing (unless they get too close). Everyone is free-ranging during the day and going to bed properly at night. I'm a happy chicken mommy.

Now, here's a question: Do chickens get colds? My Australorp, Aretha, was sneezing and sounded raspy when she breathed. Now she's better but Wanda the BR is doing the same thing.

Are we meeting up at Sussex on the 18th or the 19th???

Sounds likean Upper respiratory bug. Use your "vet rx" it helps a lot.
Could be nothing, but could be something.

I've never had to do this but have read a great many posts on using Oxine in a vaporizer for chickens with a cold. Go see the postings here on BYC. Each user said it was a miraculous cure and describes in detail how to do it. (Just use the Oxine mixed with plain water, NO other additives.)
