Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

I can't go to NJ, but I am probably going to the RI one. I hope the weather is nice.
Good luck Robert.
Two of Loretta's girls have impacted crops and short of surgery I don't know what to suggest that i haven't already. Kept me up all night thinking about them. I am slow at learning the lesson of stepping back and letting people deal with their "flock" and not get involved?

A power line came down in front of my house yesterday . What a mess. Took LIPA about 2hours just to get here . The police had the road closed off . I couldn't leave my house cause the line was so close to our chain link fence. It fried my husbands receiver and some fancy iPod dock . Wish me luck with dealing with my crazed husband.

Uuugh, that stinks. I bet he is furious...

Donna, I have a display kind of mannequin you might want. It's been outside and has some peeling of the coating. If you're interested I'll take some pics and send to you.

Hi Roberta, I'll take a look. If I want to try and sell some tees at the sussex show, do I have to call them and pay for a small table? I might pass on the mannequin but thanks anyway. Would be cool but we have too much stuff around here as it is. I am still trying to plan a garage sale over here. Our garage is filled. :–)

Donna, contact Arlene Sliker for the table.
They don't charge a fee, but ask that you donate items for the raffle.
[email protected]
She is also on facebook.
I can put in a heads up if you think you want to do it.
It's not a mannequin...

Needs a good cleaning. You put hangers on the arms, it can hold like 20-30 shirts.
Notice by all the junk in the background I too, am cleaning!

Roberta, I love that, not sure whey I was thinking mannequin. That is super cute and I would LOVE to have it. Thanks so much for thinking of me. I just have to organize getting it from you.

Question, if I do go next Saturday, how do you transport your birds? Can I put both of them in a pet carrier? Obviously bring water and food. I thought I would try and sell both as a possible breeding pair and maybe people might be more inclined to buy both then. How much would you ask for the two together? I really want them to go to a good home. I feel so responsible for them.

Thanks for all the info. I am looking for someone to go with me, hate traveling alone. So will figure out in the next few days if I am even going.

A sale cage is $3, bring a water dish, and just throw food on the floor.
I am shot and too lazy to read through the posts, what breed are you looking to sell?
I can put a heads up on the Sussex facebook page.
People will always try to get the girl and stick you with the boy, so be firm about selling the PAIR.
Maybe Suzanne, or even picking up Maggie on Staten Island... She needs to see a real show, AND... I have a pair of Silkies I want her to have, so that would be great if you can talk her into coming.
I will have a full load, but it may fit in between everything. I can even drop it in Huntington sometime. Would probably be easier for both of us.
A cat carrier is easiest, or cardboard box. The darker it is inside, the calmer they will be for the trip. Just cut a few air holes small enough so nobody gets their head stuck in them.
They can get themselves into a lot of trouble at the worst time, like toll booths!
PM me if you don't have my cell, I recently had my phone repaired and they thoughtfully erased all of my info. Jerks!

Thanks Roberta, I am selling large Gold laced Cochins. I would love to meet Maggie, maybe I will ask her and Suzanne! The whole point in getting rid of the girl with the boy is so he isn't lonely and if they were to breed later, would make a great starting point for someone looking to breed them. They are harder to find than a lot of breeds. I'm in Greenlawn but wouldn't want you to go out of your way to drop it off. I will figure out what I am doing by tomorrow.
