Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

Worse than the upcoming storm are the people. A friend is in NYPD and said that there is looting in the evacuated parts of Staten Island. Be careful SIers, and I'm not talking about the storm.

How's everyone so far? Eastern Brookhaven county, still have power, leaves everywhere, small branches down, but nothing real serious. YAY!

We're drenched here on Staten Island. My pump is holding up thankfully. Check out the new pond Mother Nature installed in my yard! The chicklens spent the nite in the shedm caged up. Now they are looking over their stomping grounds wondering what the hell happened. Their coo[s, stayed high and dry! Now I know they are in the right place.

My poor gardens...... my watermelons dissapeared under water........

I am thankful that is my only problem.

Of course as soon as I bragged that I had power, it went out. Can't get ahold of Lipa, maybe they don't have power, too???
Gave up and dragged out the generator.

Hi guys, Just got power back after an 18 hour outage. Had a small tornado touch down 100ft behind the house. That's the second one in 23 years. The first one hit the house. Last Friday lightning hit the house and knocked out the cable modem, router and the satellite. I haven't been on much because my wife's dad also passed away last Friday. This has been one heck of a week.

The girls made it through and gave us six eggs today. Can't believe they all layed. We had put up a tarp over the roof because it had been leaking the last rainstorm and they were high and dry throughout. man, they could not wait to get out of the coop.

Hope all of you made it through Irene with little or no problems.

HI, I am in Putnam County also. We made it through the storm just fine. The girls were happy to get out of the coop. I had locked them in Saturday noght and let them out again Sunday afternoon. They normally stay out in the run all night on their perch rain or shine.

Woo Hoo. I just got power about 8pm last nite. Now I can SEE all the food crumbles, and mud, and poop, and leaves, and whatever else ground into my rugs throughout the house. And I got to take a shower. First one since Friday. YUCK. The cleanup begins.
