Just noticed this posting for "southern" NY. Just want you guys to know that I'm not unwilling to drive if there is something I want. So if you post anything or only here you run the risk of missing a connection to us in other parts of the state. I've driven to Alden in the West, 5 hours, and Amsterdam in the East, 6 hours and all the way into the middle of PA , an entire day, for chicks.
Yeah, I'm slightly annoyed at wanting to divide up the state this way. Would it really have been that hard to join the rest of us? Lord have mercy I can't follow all the posts that interest me now.
Rancher, I don't mind driving. I've gone cross country many times. But once I get to the city, something snaps in peoples brains, and an hour in the car turns into a day in hell. It's a pleasure driving in the country. Besides, I blame Chicken Al!!
I dunno. That would be the same distance that you travel for chicks. 5 1/2 hrs, 320 miles...to have some guy beat me up about a thread I tried to join and got sent elsewhere? PASS!! Sorry, man...

Rancher, I'm the one who started the thread for those of us down here who have particular situations most don't have in central or western NY. I had, and do not have intentions of dividing NYers up. It is just more convenient for us to have a group that mostly comprises a 75 mile radius of NYC be able to reach out to one another. Most of us may not be able to travel that far upstate to meet and greet. And, with the interest of chicken raising in NYC becoming such a big thing it would be easier for them to connect with each other.
I have visited the NYS thread many times, and find it very active and informative. Personally, I have no problem with anyone from anywhere else joining us. This is not an exclusive thread to those of us downstate. Only an easier place for those of us located down here to make friends, share concerns and have a good time. Hope that clears things up.
