Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

Well I started vacation today. It will be a "staycation" too much to do at home prepping for this winter. We are expecting some snow. I sure hope this is not a sign of another bad winter.

You sound just like me, lol. I usually take vacation just to clean my house and shuttle kids around. One day I dream of Disney

We haven't had a "real" vacation since.... we got chickens!
Am working hubby on going to Crossroads next year. It's in Indy this weekend, but the way things are going, I would like to be an exhibitor next year. Last weekend, there was around 1,000 birds at the show. Crossroads sees like 10,000 birds.
Like the Westminster of chicken shows. Vera doesn't want to go past NJ. Maybe someone else will be crazy enough to go with me.
Got a while to plot. Oops, I mean plan....
Is it going to stop raining? I have to work this Saturday. Maybe someone will trade. Yuck.

We usually go to the North Carolina coast every other year. North Topsail Island. We absolutely love it there. We made it there this passed July and have been going for 19 years now. I'm lucky to have 5 weeks vac a year so I use 1 week for the family thing and 1 week to hunt. The rest are to take care of all the things that need to be done around the house and for travel hockey with the boys. Roberta, we are blessed to have great neighbors who have chickens also, so we take care of theirs and they take care of ours when we are away. Trish, we haven't been to Disney in 19 years. We went on our first wedding anniversary. No kids at the time so it was a nice alone time vacation, haven't been on a alone vacation since.

Next month is my 50th, hubby asked what I wanted, I told him the Shiprocked cruise.
Who's going to watch the chickens?
YOU, dear! Needless to say, that didn't go over too well. After a while, he realized I was right.
The only way to get away lately is to go alone. We have people that have offered, but they just don't do it good enough....
Oh well, what we sacrifice for our chickies!

Well i will be on the side for a bit. Time to run to Home Depot to get electrical stuff so I can finish hooking up this generator for the house. PS, the generator will not only be hooked up to the house but also to the circuit that supply's power to the chicken coop. You can see where my priorities are.

Rock and Roll 24/7 for 4 days. Live bands.
Last year, the ship ran out of vodka. And just my kind of music.
I've never been on a cruise, but probably for the best... I might have gotten in a lot of trouble!
