Good Morning all!

A question: I'll be away Wednesday afternoon to Saturday morning. Think the girls will be okay cooped up all that time?

Morning Suzanne,

As long as there is enough food and water and ventilation, they should be alright. They have enough room inside to not have an issue with being cramped in there. I would leave more water than you think they need, and maybe an extra waterer in case one gets some poop in it. Our girls somehow manage to get on top of the waterer every few weeks and drop a poop in there.

Have a great time and a Happy Thanksgiving.

Yeah, that seems to be their fave.... pooping in the water.
Got anyone who can check up on them?
Have fun!
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Roberta

Gives new meaning to the phrase "toilet water".

I put in an extra waterer and enough food for a week, including treats and rehydrated alfalfa cubes. Laura's boyfriend will check in tomorrow (he loves the chickens) and she'll be home Friday. Either one of them can, you know, collect all the eggs.

Today's problems: leaking coop roof and mold in the stored container of food (tightly sealed plastic container in the house). When I get back, I'll have to add some more shingles and start buying smaller bags of feed. All this for a bunch of freeloading coop insulators...

I love my girls!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

Talk about freeloaders, all 6 of my 2.5 buff orps haven't laid in a few months. Wonder if they'll ever start again or are they finished for good?

I think they are just confused with the wacky weather we have been having.
I have never had a moult this nasty before. All the big girls are freeloading, but my bantams are on overtime.
At least I can use the little eggs for baking.

I feel like the lucky guy with all six giving us eggs this morning. I still can't believe it.

After watching that awful video I had to buy eggs. I hope it's the last time! Come on, Gladys!!!

She's so noisy, I can't believe she's not ready to lay yet.
