Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

our town code allows 6 she has 4
i'm thinking there may be another reason for it
but that is what the letter stated
was tempted to call our allstae agent and ask but dont want to give them any ideas

I looked Allstate up on epinions.com and found some pretty terrible reviews, including one that said the homeowners were cancelled because they were "farming". I only have Allstate because my friend recommended the agent when I bought the house. I've never filed a claim because I was told the numerous basement flooding and one roof leak incident would not be covered. I really only have homeowners insurance because I have a mortgage. It's a useless waste of money as far as I can tell. Unless your home is destroyed, they won't do a thing. Except maybe cancel your policy!

Okay, end of rant..

Throw them some dried mealworms. That's how I get mine quieted down. Did that this morning so I could add some pine shavings to the run. They are so busy scratching it lets me then clean out the coop without them wanting to come in. Would you believe they pack at the pop door if I'm inside and it's closed. It sounds like they are knocking on the door to come in. And, they can get pretty insistent!

Canceling homeowner's insurance for chickens? That sounds crazy. You'd think they'd not want to cancel so they could keep collecting premiums. Something sounds fishy.

I have a friend, had Allstate, got cancelled for some rediculous reason about flooding, living too close to water, not true.....
whatever. They say you're in good hands. BS
Have a friend works in corporate, can find out if it really is an issue, let me know, PM me with info.

The egg song!! give them treats, will shut up for as long as it takes to eat, yAY!

Sorry if I caused any worries like I did for myself
I spoke to this girl myself
It was her current company, I think she said mercury that cancelled her for chickens
but looking for insurance she was told no one will insure you with chickens
one place told her it would be 300 - 500 more a year for the chickens
i think the whole thing is BS

Yeah, gotta be careful with those chickens. Once they get the taste of blood, there's no stopping them.
They'll be eating all the neighbors dogs, then their kids. Oh, the claims we will be paying out!

On Long Island, a lot of insurance companies are looking to get out because of flooding claims. ANY excuse is a good one.

I may sic my killer chickens on them!

I wouldn't mind the egg song if there were some eggs to go with it...
