yes, they do..... they are fine, they just aren't drinking water....... I always think "I drink 9 glasses of water a day, how come they don't drink much". I know size is very important, but the chicks are only drinking a few drops a day when I force them.

I am down to 2 chicks now :(
the white Cochin was blowing bubbles out of her mouth and having a seizure.
I think they sent me sick chickens.

I have the EE and silkie. I am worried about the silkie because she is one of the chicks who had a pasty butt and although she is eating and drinking on her own she is not as active as the EE. We shall see.

I feel like such a chicken mom failure.

Sorry to hear another has died. Toxic, no way are you to think you are a failure. You are doing everything to care for these chicks that can be done. I believe you did receive chicks that had tons of stress put on them from the journey from the hatchery to your home. Baby chicks are delicate, and that ordeal they went through with being dehydrated and all is making me think you are doing an excellent job of caring for them. Hang in there and keep doing what you are doing. Keep us posted.

Sorry about your chicks. Please be extremely careful; make sure you wash really well before you handle anything that will be around your flock. You don't want to spread anything. I'm a retired veterinary microbiologist with OCD. You are not a failure; your chick more then likely sat somewhere in horrible conditions. Call the company and get more chicks but first sterilize everything with a bleach solution Carol

I truly hope I don't come off as cold . At 55 I it seems like I have spent my whole life taking care of sick and injured animals. It is an extremely hard an emotional thing. I wish I could help.
