Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

I started hatching them out in November, so 3-4 months and younger.
I would like to keep the Orps, will probably breed those too.
But if I choose to get rid of them, you get the girl(s).

Forget careful its hopeless. You think that we're one big self help group but we are really a Chicken Enabler program that you don't need medical insurance to attend.I started out with 3 and now have 10. Still need to get rid of those roos. My friend with the Black Copper Marans that I gave her last year is expecting her eggs to start hatching in a day or 2 and she said I can have a hen if she gets an extra. #11 See what I mean. Some people have their crack we have are CLUCK.... GOTTA LOVE IT (NOT A TYPIST)

I figured you'd want to keep the Orps for breeding. The Marans lay those beautiful dark eggs, right? Or will in a few months...

When you're overrun with Lavender Orpingtons, I'm your girl!

Laura's already working on names for the new chicks. Esther, Lavinia, Thelma, Mabel, Ethel. Still working on our Mah Johng league.

Found this on craigslist. Houses 10-12 hens. The builder is in Montrose PA and will ship to LI for $50.

It looks like a really nice coop but I don't think 10 to 12 birds will fare well in there.
It measures 4x5x5 so that would be 20 sq ft floor space. That would be only 2 sq ft per bird if you had 10 birds in there. Also the nest boxes are on the inside floor making it even less than 20 sq ft of floor space. If you housed 6 birds in there it would allow about 3 sq ft per bird. Bare minimal in my opinion. Again It seems to be a well built coop but not for 10 to 12 birds.

I have so many I can't even count them all.
Unless you are from the town.
6 hens, that's all, sir. 6

And I have lots of Marans girls that will need homes.
These are my culls, so we will call them "dark egg layers"
They may not be show quality...

Suzanne, looks like 2 and 2

I want one of your " dark egg layers" as soon as my little ones are big enough to be with one. Prolly a month or 2 right? They will be 2 weeks on Monday
