How do you know about parrot poop?
When I babysit my friends Amazon, his poop stinks, too

I used to have an African Grey. He died a few years ago. Broke my heart. I figured I go with chickens at $3 vs $1600 You think I can teach my chickens to talk? Lol

Reporter Ned Rauch is working on a story about backyard chickens in the lower Hudson Valley, particularly in denser areas of Rockland and Westchester counties. If you raise chickens, and would be willing to be interviewed for an article, contact Ned at (914)694-5063 or [email protected].

Any of you guys interested?

No, no, no, no, no. My town does not legally allow chickens of any sort according to the head of building department. I am skating a thin line as it is, plus I don't really consider myself expert enough to advise people starting coops of their own. I disagree with the building department guy, I think the code is open to interpretation, but I'd rather not start a fight with town hall. I'm either going to have to get rid of my birds and/or pay an extra tax.

I had a dream last night that I got another dog, a horse and a goat. Hmmm. Whaddya think THAT means?

I have until tomorrow to decide if I want to cancel my bid on 8 Lavender Orpington hatching eggs. I'm worried about placing the others, after I get my one pullet. (assuming at least one is a pullet). Advice?

If you want Orps, I will hatch them for you.
You can't have my bator for school.
And always keep in mind, shipped eggs are usually only 50% hatch rate. So you order twice as many. And the math goes on, and on....

Were you havin' too many glasses of wine before you went to bed?

Oh, and Toxic, I breed Eclectus, if you are ever interested in another money pit.
I wrote down when I opened up the $185. worth of parrot food, want to see how long that lasts.
And that was after 10% off.....

See, my problem is that I want to hatch them here to, you know, experience the joy of motherhood (

). I was gonna get my own incubator or use one of the school's. But I don't think I'm gonna do it in the classroom because of the petrie dish environment. Then there's the extra problem. I'm bidding on 8, cos then it will only be 4, but what about roos, etc., etc. Am I taking on a whole project just because I want to hatch one little pullet?

I think I'm talking myself out of it...
