Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

Thanks, Donna. His fire pit is far enough away so it's not an issue. Plenty of trees to ignite in between, anyway! We haven't used our fire pit since we got the chickens. Good thinking about the smoke, though. Hadn't thought of it. Little Miss Firefighter usually gives us grief about using the pit, anyway.

This is great, cause I had it in my head that I needed to put one in on my patio. Now I can use fire safety as an excuse instead of flat out laziness.

Well you're the expert on smoking and chickens! lol I guess a little cup of joe isn't going to hurt them more than that kid's cigarette.

My girls are SO excited about the chicks coming next month, btw! Can't wait myself. Already have a teeny brooder box set-up, ready and waiting.

I set mine up this weekend, too. And you may have sticks in your house, but I have a carton of forage cakes in my living room right now. Chickens are my life,

Yeah. Voice of reason.

Yep. Coming from someone that has an incubator full of eggs, just got 8 more eggs today (Japanese bantam, so Georgie can get a girlfriend)
I won another bunch on e-bay this afternoon. 18 eggs, bantam Cochins. Uh Huh, reason.
Insanity, I tell you!

You are my idol.

It's 7 am. The light isn't even on in the bedroom, Bobby's barely coherent, but we're talking about nesting boxes for the new coop. And HE brought it up.

You know you're addicted to chickens when...

It's so nice out, I wish my girls were old enough to take outside
In their pen. They are in that ugly stage with bald spots lol.
I have to wait another 2 weeks I think before we start day
trips. I can't believe how fast they grow. Every morning they
Seem bigger than the day before.
