And I'm happy to report that my condition has been upgraded to "sling optional".

Suzanne, that's great! Don't tell Booby yet, though. He may want you to give him a hand with the new coop. BTW, the coop is looking outstanding. Enjoy the freedom of being able to move your arm again.

I don't know if anyone on here has AOL as an email provider, but if you do, and are experiencing trouble getting updates on thread notifications, it is something of an issue. I had to start using another email provider because all the notifications went from being late and out of order to just plain stopped. Now, I still have AOL because I can't for some dumb reason give up an email address I've had forever, but I forward the updates from gmail to AOL.

Also, I wrote to AOL on their feedback address and told them to Allow BYC on their whitelist so we can get the updates. For some reason AOL blocks them and they do not even appear in the spam folder.

OK, my public service announcement for the day is complete...

For any of you who are interested in soy free layer feed, Agway now carries it. It is their own brand and it's called Hearty Hen. It should be cheaper than many other soy free feeds.
It is not organic, but here is a thread here which has the ingredients listed. I may check my local Agway to see if they carry it.

Thanks. That's good to know. I might try it when I switch them off chick starter.
Was thinking about layena cause I can get it 5 minutes down the road but I here
soy isn't that great, I dunno it's probably gonna come down to what's better for my
pocketbook though.

I have AOL also, and stopped getting updates.
what a pain to have to switch my email.

Right now I'm using the Layena. It came down to a financial decision on my part too. The Layena is far cheaper than the organic I was using before, and the shipping was killing me. So far the girls waste a lot less of the Layena pellets. So, the Layena is even more economical, and it looks like the chickens have laid off on the feather picking. And, the eggs taste just as good.

As far as AOL, you can set up a gmail account, change your BYC to that account, and forward the emails from gmail to your AOL. I do that and it works just fine. I am so used to the AOL format and I've had th address so long that I don't want to give it up.

I got an organic feed from Agway. Cheaper than Countryside Organics (what isn't?). I didn't like the Layena. Smelled very yeasty to me. The girls like the new feed, but I may try the Agway brand. It's no biggie to pick it up in Riverhead.
