They are the brand of choice around here. My husband and son are finish carpenters and make custom furniture and cabinets. And a very fine coop--which is incomplete...

Wow so glad I have one on order lol !!

It's because they are great foragers, have camouflage
coloring (their eggs do too). Are good meat and egg birds
and they will go broody to raise more chicks.

Marens where high up on the list too.

husband has to go to a fireman's wake out there tomorrow if he gets off juiry duty early enough.. A work partners brother had a heart attack at the scene of a fire. Thought I'd make the trip with him but wow....now thats a ride from where I live on the southern tip of staten island.
