Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

Actually my 18th passed in October, so I can say I'm coming up on 19! (So much for one day at a time...)

Yes, I probably have the healthiest cesspool on Long Island.

And yes, I am out of it this morning. I feel like there's a Cadillac parked in my skull. An old one. A big Eldorado that gets about 5 miles per gallon. Thank God Fridays are fairly easy for me. My kids are out of the classroom for the first two periods and then there's only 1 period til lunch. By then I should be a little more alert.

I love direct depost. Got my paycheck and paid all the utility bills before I even got my sorry, sluggish butt out of bed. I didn't let the girls out first thing and when I looked out the window, there they all were giving me the stink eye from their new front windows. I can see why Hitchcock made "The Birds". They get that pteryadactyl look about them and I want to run.

Suzanne you are hysterically funny. Love it. Glad you woke up this morning with nothing more than a headache.

Oh, Donna, love them all, but the first one has "darn" in it, some nutcases it may offend....
I always look at it from the point of a classroom read aloud and the "darn" will make all the kids gasp and giggle and stop paying attention. They'll love the smelly old shoe, though.

I remember 51.

I actually woke up by 11 this morning. Which was unfortunate since I got to school at 8:30. One of my colleagues lent me a book about hatching a chick, which the kids loved. I couldn't figure out the breed so after we read the story we all trooped over to the computer and researched it. Then I showed them pictures of what the chicks will look like when they grow up. We all had fun talking about chickens. They want me to bring the chicks in for them to see, which I might when the weather warms up a little more. I can come home for lunch so it would only be a couple of hours.

I made the class laugh doing silly voices today so we had a fun day. I didn't want to kill anyone. I made a doctor appointment for Tuesday so I can stay home from school for the hatch. I think I'll make a dentist appointment for Friday for the extra baby hatch.

Bobby just told me he saw the space shuttle fly over while he was working today. They're bringing it to the Intrepid museum. Very cool. Didn't have his phone to take pictures, though.

I have a funny tree picture too.

My Ameraucana eggs will be here tomorrow

I tried candling the orp eggs, cant see anything but but nice big air cells.
I'll try again in a few days when i get my cool lite candler.

This waiting thing is so hard.

That is a very funny tree picture! Love it, reminds me of JLO from American Idol Wednesday night!

Here was my original story about Mrs. Cuddlesworth. Which do you like better?

Mrs. Cuddlesworth,
so sweet, so sweet!

She wants to be a mom and
hear her babies tweet, tweet!

She sits on her nest,
day after day,

Do you think her eggs
will hatch and turn out ok?

Hooray!
They hatch into
cute little chicks!

Look how they run around,
so quick, so quick!

Oh no, they went missing!
Where did they go?

She can’t find them anywhere
and misses them so!

Where could they be?
It doesn’t make sense!

Oh look! They are in the yard
and went under the fence!

This was really dangerous
that much she knew!

She flapped her wings wildly
and away she flew!

She needed to save them
and save them she did!

Collected them all and
held them under her wing.

My 5 year old loved it and asked: How many baby chickies?
