Well to make myself feel better
I am now bidding on 6 golden cukoo eggs.

Might as well bid on some dinosaur eggs while I'm at it. Then I won't have to worry about being over the limit.
The Dino's can eat the chickens.

I had 40 out of 41 hatch with 8 hour power shortage and another hatch 18 out of 21 eggs with temp at 102 when I was out for the day. I forgot that I had separate heater on in the room for my 3 lb. chihuahua

Lavinia is doing really well. She looks and acts just like a normal chicken. As in, she wants nothing to do with the chick necklace anymore. I put her and the big chicks together and she was scared poopless. They kept stepping on her and she kept trying to crawl up under their wings. So I put the fence back in. I changed the bulb to red because the light was hurting my eyes (I can imagine how she felt).

When I warned our daughter that our new chickie might poo on her (she was trying to get her to sit on her head like a hat), she took her over to her potty, then pulled up a chair and demonstrated for chickie how one might poo on the potty like a big girl. DH says he draws the line at wiping chickie butts.
