Ugh, so jealous! My two chicks are getting awfully stinky. I think it's another week or two and then they can go outside.
I want to go to show but I have Ameraucana due.
I think only 4 of the 6 eggs are viable but I left them
all in. Lockdown Thursday..
My 12 welsummer eggs have shipped. Ugh
So the bantam has a reddish comb whereas the older Welsummer's hasn't turned red at all... plus s/he seems to have bottom wattles growing already. I don't remember my other hens growing their bottoms until much later. Maybe I'm getting paranoid but something tells me this is a he!

I took the day off to work in the yard. Got the vines planted around the new run, plus the rest of the vegetable plants and rose bush. Haven't decided where to put the gerbera daisy, salvia and hydrangea yet, so that's not done. Was too lazy to fight with the white gravel around the lavender plants, so the new ones haven't gone in yet. But I raked the yard in preparation for the blanket of grass seed I plan to put down. Fixed up some border fencing, added cds and other distractions to the run, including some big branches for perching. Took the kitten to the vet (he's sick) and had a PT session. I even managed to drag Bobby to our favorite thrift store to stock up on crappy work jeans (for him). Scored some great activity books that I can use with the new tutoring business. Oh yeah, and I tutored for an hour and then voted on my local school budget.

God, I love days like this!
I'm going to investigate natural flea treatments - the little guy has a mild case and he's so little, we can't use anything on him. I bathed him twice in the sink today, but he's catching on. His little claws came out the second time. So we're gonna stick to the flea comb. Shouldn't be a problem - he did get some form of treatment at his foster home. Also, he has an upper respiratory infection - some sneezing and eye gunk. Got meds for that - so far he's been good with getting the oral syringe full of antibiotics and the eye ointment twice a day. I'm doing all the dosing so he won't hate Laura. It's a mom thing. Oh yea, and the vet thinks he may have worms although there's no evidence and he was dewormed.
He's still the biggest mush cat I've ever seen, despite all that...
