Hi Y'all. Happy Friday!

One more week til the Memorial Day hatchathon for me and Karen. I've been so good. Only opened the bator once to candle the eggs.

Oh dearest Chicken Fairy Godmother, do I remember you saying you have Coronation Sussex hens? hmmmm...

Yes I do. Still trying to decide whether they will be for sale tomorrow. Need to go thru all the roos today, and see if there will be any room in the car.

Well my eggs arrived in the mail yesterday and are resting . I will put them in the incubator later this afternoon. I still cannot believe what I witnessed yesterday. I had the Mass chicks out on the drive way for a little sun and was also out here talking to my neighbor. As we were talking a huge crow landed on the wire above our heads. Of course a starling and blue jay came and started to scream at it . It did not move. It sat there staring at the container the chicks were in.I even said, "that thing is eyeing up my chicks." All of a sudden it swooped down in to the driveway headed right for them. We both couldn't believe it. I can't imagine what would have happened if I was in the house. I still can't believe it. Excited for tomorrow.
Totally scary! I hate crows. I know they're just doing what crows do, but they do kamikaze swoops at moving cars and scare the daylights out of me!!! Thank goodness you were there!!

Yesterday was a good day. Painted some of the interior of the hen house, brought the big girls outside for a few hours under close watch, and then my older sons track meet then my middle sons baseball game. Track meet=win, baseball=respectable loss.

Of course I stayed up too late and had to get up too early, so I'm running on pure coffee this morning.

Hi Caleb. Hope you had a good day and your chickens are staying clean!

It was such a nic.e day, I put the babies out in the yard in their new play pen. Then I let them into the run with the big girls. Wanda, my BR, really went after them. I've seen her peck at Shirley (my GC and best layer), so it doesn't surprise me. Bobby put together the "isolation chamber", so I'm going to keep getting them acquainted and try putting the babies outside this weekend.
My chickens are clean as of this morning... I REALLY hope the dont decide to dust bathe =] My little ones are finnally starting to kinda be accepted... FINALLY.... hope yours get along

edited for spelling,

Morning, everyone. Looks like everybody has been busy. I've been under the weather the past few days and glad the sun is finally staying for a few days.

Sounds like you guys are going to have a great time tomorrow. The weather is going to be nice and I'm sure that will boost attendance.

Got up late and need to let the girls out. They are still looking beat up because of the feather picking. Might have to wait till they molt to see a big enough improvement. They still all lay everyday, but to look at them you would wonder how they manage it. I'm jealous when I see Suzanne's chickens looking so healthy and full feathered.

Heather, your daughter is a beautiful girl, and the chicken looks huge in her arms. All you guys are killing me with the plump hen pics.

Roberta, I'm sure you'll do well tomorrow in both the awards catagory and the at your vendor table. Please, take some pics of the event.

Have a great day, all.

Hi Al. Was wondering how you were since we haven't heard from you.
Looks like you are preparing yourself for the hen show tomorrow

but you are being the good husband.
Caleb, love the garden. We recently put the raised beds in also. So far I like it, but it's never big enough.
I'd like to put some corn in this year, it just takes up so much room.
