Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

Oooh, I hope you don't think I was being critical, your coop is outsdanding and the run is fantastic. I wish mine was that cute. I was just posting an alternative resource of information for jocelynlg who was asking about insulating. We went back and forth about it too. We decided not to because the only reason we were considering it was for warmth and the local farmers all told us that if we did insulate to be sure to knock a wall out for air... smart alec farmers.

See everyone tomorrow!!!

I totally didn't take it as critical! Everything is such a personal decision, plus taking into consideration the surroundings, etc. etc. One of the reasons we put in slider windows was to have more ventilation, especially in the summer. I'm not a big fan of heating the coop in the winter. All we have is a warmer for the water.

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow.

Since we are talking gardens... A garden in bad need of some weeding...

Everyone's gardens are so beautiful. I'm going to have to post a picture of my little crap garden surrounded by concrete on 3 sides and chicken-razed earth on the 4th! Six tomato plants, 2 cucumber, 1 zucchini and a coupla collard greens. Watch out!! (I put all my effort into the coop. I'm more of a meat-eater, anyway.

I finished my first crocheted chick. Easier and faster than an incubator. I'll share pix tomorrow. Gotta get my chicken sleep...

My chicks just woke me up peeping, they are fine, were all at the feeder eating. I decided to peek into my incubator and look who showed up 2 days early outa the egg I thought was not viable.

You have a lovely property. It's hard to find that kind of thing out here. I have woods in my yard, so my garden is a container garden in one of the only patches of pure sunlight I have in the back of the house. (Spackle buckets are considered a container right?

) I can post pictures of the buckets if anyone would like to see them. I have tomatoes and peppers, and I'm considering beans, since I can grow them along a fence.
