Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

Hi, Frank and I are born and raised Beaconites.  Now we live in Greenwich in Washington County outside of Saratoga.  It is farm country and chickens are everywhere.  We got 15 chicks in April and we expect them to start laying in September.  They are Rhode Island Red pullets.  Our next door neighbors have chicken too, but they are in our yard more than their own.  She put up a fence, but they jump right over a 5 foot fence.  They follow my husband in a line as he is tilling the gardens.  It is so funny to watch.  One of the, Henrietta, follows my husband everywhere and even tugs at his pants for him to feed her.  They were our inspiration to get our own chickens.  When my husband whistles, ours come running.   Thanks for the welcome.

Hi, and welcome! My nephew lives in Burnt Hills, which I believe is close to you.

You'll like it here. Especially if you like to laugh. We are a pretty funny collection of chicken heads.

I just got home from a pretty crazy day. Lots of running around. Managed to squeeze in a massage, tho. Saw my mom for a couple of hours, baked a cake, had dinner with friends, supermarket, pet store, anniversary party and now home.

I did have time to take another picture of my roo, who is just 4 weeks tomorrow.

I seriously need to find a home for him. Come on, he's such a handsome guy!

He's really cute! I hope you find him a good home. I have to rehome Luke, and possibly Diva. The rest of the girls look to be...well, girls! (Unless we have a female impersonator in the flock)

I'm glad you had a good day yesterday. It was hot as all heck, but sunny skies always perk me up.

WOW. We're having one heck of a T-storm. The house is shaking with every clap of thunder. Cool man. It's supposed to clear up rather early, i hope the weather people know what they're talking about.

Tonight my husband and I are having date night. We're going to Belmont to see some racing then Zebra is playing there!! A few of our friends from our old neighborhood are coming, and it should be a blast!

OK, time to go out and open the girls door. More coffee is also on the list. Much more.

Yet another storm rolling through.I can hear my one girl screaming to be let out .She is the voice for the rest of them. They'll have to wait a little longer.

Suszanne; glad you had a nice day.

Well I went absolutely crazy and bought an Eglu coop. I'm going to use it as a transition coop for my young girls. My husband is going to kill me when he sees the credit card bill next month but by then it will be too late to return it.I'll just tell him its a Christmas present. My way of rushing the holiday. He's constantly going into the city to plays and dinner ,so I'll just tell him it's my version of a play and dinner. He's not going to like any way I spin it but my son is coming home on Tuesday so he'll help me with convincing him.

The kids that followed me home from Mass went free ranging yesterday afternoon. They loved it. My NN has decided that she is going to hang out with them.I guess since she is so petite that she feels more comfortable with them.

My middle batch of girls is so terrified of the big girls that they won't mingle with them. But they're okay with the babies, and the babies are so bold (because they have a rooster??) they go into the run with the big girls. I'm hoping they'll all mingle at some point...

Thanks! It's steamy out there already! Hopefully, we'll take the bike, so the wind should feel good...until we get there. Good thing I like the smell of horses.

It's gonna be a manure scented day...
This will be the big test for this whole keratin thing I guess. It's been pretty un-frizzy, but I can't justify doing it again. Frizzy might be good for tonight though-I could re-create the root perm and hair sprayed mess I used to think was hot back in the 80's...

Oh yeah, how many other hottie patotties from the 80's do we have here?

Have you ever tried Japanese straightening? It's about $180.00 including tip in a place in Queens and until it starts growing out, it's guaranteed to be straight and frizz free. Even when it grows out, the bottom stays gorgeous. Of course you have to like really straight hair, which I do.

Another hot rocker from the '80's here

ya wouldn't know it seeing me now!
I still have the Precision bass, and Marshall amp to prove it.

Thanks for the wishes, Al.

Yippee, now DH and I are spending quality time together.

Was kinda funny having him bring pizza home last nite.
At least it stayed inside the box when he dropped it on the floor, so it didn't get dirt in it.
Yippee.
