Southern NY, Dutchess county and below

I will not only accept a few CL pullets, but I will even take a rooster. Just sayin'.

I have 4 broodies hatching a random selection of eggs at the moment. Broody poop is sooooo disgusting! :sick

I will most likely be hatching some. I'm just worried, is it ok
to let a broody hatch this time of year? Should I wait for the spring?
I dunno.

How are the blue wheatons doing? For the longest time
mine was the same size as my silkie bantom but she is
finally growing bigger. She is so pretty and Fiesty ! She
won't let the big girls boss her around.

I am hoping they have enough feathers by winter, otherwise I will put a light out there for them. I just couldn't break these broodies, so they get a couple of mutts each.

The wheatens are adorable. They are fully integrated into the flock and the little guy is bucking for head rooster. He is something else. I will try to get pics up here, I am not sure how to do it with my new phone (droid razr maxx in case anyone has any ideas for the right app). The marans pullet (peep) is doing really well too. She is a little on the nutty side, but in a cute and endearing way how old are they now?

I got eggs from Ebay, some hatched good, my
CL eggs did not hatch. I was thinking about getting
them from MPC.

Wait is Roberta hatching them?

I so want a Roo but I think my neighbors might
report me. My one neighbor loves my hens and
wants to keep chickens but his wife won't let him.
He comes over and watches mine. I give him eggs
too. He was upset I don't have a rooster. If only all
my neighbors were like him.

Oh just on a side note. The Orpington eggs Roberta gave
me hatched out the most gorgeous birds, I am so jealous
of the local farm that has my 2 Roos from those eggs.
They are handsome and gental too. If I ever get to move
upstate I am stealing them back. Haha.

Yes, the CFG was thinking, if you guys were considering buying chicks from Greenfire Farms for
ep.gif
$59.00 each for pullets, and $19.00 each for boys

I just may be doing everyone a service if I could get hatching eggs.

Ha. I still can't believe I mixed up the marans and
SLW chick. It just didn't look like a SLW until about
2 weeks ago, she was an ugly duckling lol.
