I got 4 CL eggs today, they sent no extras :( no extras coming with the second group of 9 either. I pray I get at
least one Roo and 2-3 pullets to hatch
so in the spring they can make more.
I took a pic of a CL egg next to white egg and my EE green-blue egg.

Thank you for the pics. NPIP is no longer an issue for me....I am holding off on having our flock certified.

That's a wonderful cause, Littlecritters! I worked for a doctor that came from Haiti, we did so much transporting supplies, and collections for Haiti. Such a good cause!!

Thank you, I find it very therapeutic and satisfying to help in these kinds of efforts. Last year, I helped my disabled sister who crocheted 140 pairs of baby booties for charity. She crocheted the main pieces and I sewed up the seams for her. I also crocheted about 30 hats to match some of the booties.

If anyone would like to make a quilt or a quilt top for Haiti, please let me know. The quilts are going to an orphanage and we are doing a simple pattern of 10" blocks sewn 4 blocks in a row with 6 rows. It takes only an hour to sew a top together. One of our church members will be traveling to Haiti and bringing the quilts with her.

OOOH! How big are the skeins? What do you think I'll need for 12+ squares at 12" each?
I got you 5 skeins of the chocolate plus 2 of a beautiful autumn mix. Got the same for me and hoping it will be enough. Right now there are 14 participants. I'm very excited to start. Pulled out some autumn color scraps from my room collection. Checking the garage later.
This is the Autum color mix I picked up for us.

OOOOOH!!! I have a gorgeous burgundy that will go with that! I'm going to look through the patterns she posted and see what strikes my fancy. Now we need to make a date for more coffee, and maybe a cruller...

I'll look through my vast stores of yarn too. I know I have loads of blues, and beiges. Not sure what else-I've forgotten. I put this stuff away a while ago and my memory, well, it's not what it used to be!

Makes me want to restart my shawl knitting project.
I started about a yr ago and gave up cause it wasn't
going well. I did find a knitting club that meets at penara
bread so maybe I can go and get help.
Every row ends up one chain longer and I keep messing
up and getting big holes in it. I have ripped the thing out
and started over a few times and eventually gave up.

All I can do in knitting are the knit and purl stitches. I'm a much better crocheter. This project will be fun - so far 14 squares 12"x12" in fall colors. I'll use up a lot of scraps!

If you can access YouTube, check out the videos from 'Crochet by Theresa'. She has the best video clips which are shot up close and with slow motion sections. I taught myself to crochet hearts and flowers by following her videos. Oh wait, you are knitting? You can check the knitting videos also.

I'm annoyed with myself for not getting my broody
used to the small private coop before the eggs came.
She screamed and rolled the eggs out of the nest
I think she wanted to move them to the big coop.
I can't let her raise chicks in with the other hens.
So all the eggs have to go in the incubator.
I feel so bad. She wants to be a mom but I have
too much invested in these eggs to let the other hens
crack them or kill the chicks. :(

Well I know for next time.
