Hello. So I need to prepare my outside space for my ducklings. I have one area and then I also have an old dog pen area. I’m not sure which would be better. Which would be easier to keep predators out? I know I am going to have to do work either way. What are y’all’s thoughts? And threw a picture of my quackers in there.

You’ll need to cover the pen in hardware cloth and put a skirt all around the outside to keep out diggers also cover the top securely so nothing can fly in or climb inside.
Yup, hardware cloth. Shop around for it. My cheapest option was tractor supply shipped to the store. It’s horrible stuff to work with, but it’s really the only thing that works.

Raccoons will stick their arms in anything other than hardware cloth and try an pull a duck right through fencing heart breaking to see. Mink / weasels can get through 1” openings. Dogs fox coyote will dig. And then you have hawks owls and other predators that will fly or climb in.
