Spanish speakers, teach me!

If I remember correctly there is Spanish like they speak in most of Spain. That is what most books teach. Then there is Spanish that they speak in a small part of Spain an most of the Americas. I believe its the one referred to Castayano or Castilian in English. Then there is Spanglish.... I have been learning or trying to learn for years. One of these days I will go south an see how I do.

How do you say "No I will not take less for that rooster"? LOL

I used to work in a shop full of Cambodians and Viets. As the only native English speaker, I spent a lot of time answering questions and in general apologizing for my messed-up language. I found myself saying, "But, that's slang", a lot. Finally one of the guys said, "Why did we bother studying English? We should have studied slang!" Their teachers had been working on fairly useless things like the "th" sound, which plenty of native English speakers get by just fine without, while neglecting rather important things like the difference between "snack" and "snake".

I did the first few Spanish lessons while work was slow, and haven't had the time to get back to it. I need to get Spanish down, at least so I can sorta speak with construction crews. Then I need to learn Dutch, so I can move to Holland.
