Speckled Sussex Question

As of now yes. I realized mine was a cockerel at week 4. His comb grew so fast and turned red very quickly. Then his waddles started growing. His behavior is different as well. I have 8 chicks and I believe 3 are cockerels. The speckled Sussex and 2 buff Orpingtons. The 3 fight all the time. They don't bother the pullets just each other.

Mine will be 7 weeks on Friday. My lil SS with the deep mahogany color goes chest to chest with my (same age) Welsummer cockerel... but with that said, my Welsummer pullet will do it too and I know she is female lol

This is my little SS, Rocket. I'm hoping she is a she, based on tail feathers I think she is a she. Anyway she is 6 weeks old along with my other chicks and has always been a bit smaller than the others.

Ive read that a lot of white on the chest is usually a rooster. But both of mine started out with a lot of white and not as much now. They seem to be a difficult breed to sex....

Here's to our babies being pullets!

My pullets chest bump as well but my SS will actually jump and pull his legs up in front of him and fight.

Yeah my Welsummer Cockerel does that occasionally. He went to do that to me once when I was gathering them all up to take them back inside to the brooder. (I am still trying to integrate them into my older flock). But as soon as he began to do it, lol, he stopped and ran away. It was so obvious it is just a reflex that they have. Then his reasoning came back to him and he ran lol
