Do these all look like Speckled Sussex? The smallest one is part silkie

Sorry for the awkward photo, but I was thinking this chick I hatched was pure SS. Looking at it now, I'm not so sure. It's feet look too big and orange and it has black feathers on its butt. Opinions? I was thinking maybe it's a SS-silver laced brahma mix

Those feet do look very yellow-ish. Here's my heritage breed SS Pullet @ 10 weeks old.

Ok. A couple of them a slightly bigger so I'm thinking they got some Brahma genes. Also, I've had two chicks 5 weeks old disappear in the past couple days. I know I have either rats or mice in my coop so would they be the culprit? There is not a single remain, feather, foot, or wing.

Haha I know I'm probably late, but this is one of my girls: Her name is Smores and she gives me eggs even in the cold

My speckled sussex just had her first egg!! I'm so excited. But she is pecking at it, what do I do?? And how do I go about it.

Place a golf ball in each nesting box. They peck them and see how hard they are and stop pecking it. leave them there as well to deter the pecking. Will help ti train the new layers where to go as well. Also bring in eggs often as you can. Egg eaters are sometimes hard to break.
