Delaware 2 is out in a weird way. Baby sorta pushed and catapulted itself out of the shell and several inches away.

It is staying tucked with only one leg out. Weird chickie

Little delaware had a cheering group...DH, roomie and DD were hovering around the bator encouraging it...when baby launched itself out of the egg everyone jumped back. LOL

Expecting normal hatch but baby launched itself to the side of the bator

The landing and first movement was stretching one leg out

Lovely...mine want to interview for the circus...they wish to be launched from a cannon.

It just had a hard trip into the world. Let the kid rest awhile before we worry too much. That's alot of work!

This is probably my DH's Ike jr. we are looking at. Only Issac's son would fly out of the egg!

Heavens I still have 2 delaware to go and 3 orps.

I need a ding dong.


Update...little delaware 2 has a very red navel...looks a little raw hmmmm I will keep an eye on him/her for a bit.

That baby Del looks camera shy in that photo.

I hope the navel is ok. We had acouple of muts with large protrusions at their navels and they are great now. It took a few days or a week, so hopefully Ike Jr's navel will be ok.

We want to see Suedeletts now.

It should be fine once it dries up. When he fluffs out, you won't even notice it, I bet. Just be sure he's fluffed before you put him in the brooder with the others so they wont see the red and pick at it.

Of course.... I just "spanked" EE #4 for picking at him. Had to give him a shove with my finger to get him behaving. But man let me try to touch that delaware...EE pecked me. LMAO I told him to grow a real beak and arse and come back.

It is looking better and delaware is trying to get his legs under him and rest up.
