Spirit - the amazing grey dewlap toulouse gander!

Thank you all for your support. Bonnie continues to improve on new meds, so hubby is taking her to work (petco) with him tomorrow. He has today off, so we hope to get some outdoor projects done and she can tag along. Spirit is slow to figure out how to stand and walk without the rod, but keeps trying. I will take pics today and hopefully be able to upload them this evening, assuming my new computer is ready to pick up. Currently I am using my iPad and have no clue how to post pics on it.

Marty, when is the new court date scheduled for the criminal case against dog owners? Has Julia decided on a new pet yet? How's Baby doing? Sure would love to see new pics.

Paulla, glad Jerry finally got the much needed surgery!!

It is a precious awful time, every single moment at the end of a beloved life is the greatest beauty and the worst agony.

That is so true, Marty. I treasure the last 4 months I had with my Lab after he was diagnosed with bone cancer. I pulled a futon mattress out in the living room and slept with him there every night - just the two of us. It was an incredible experience in that we became closer than ever, but it was agonizing at the same time, knowing that I would probably have to make the decision to let him go soon. Man, I still miss that dog.

On a different note, not goose related, it was with immense delight that I found out that my city manager and engineers office had been on the run all morning answering questions for the State Historic Society on behalf of my paved back corner. I sent them a frustrated email yesterday, to be sure they were aware of what I was up against. I pointed out to them I was having to spend my restoration money on a lawyer now in a one woman effort to preserve a piece of historic property. (I love you of course, Iain, and I like the one I'm paying, I just wish it weren't necessary)

Yay! I'm glad someone else is leaning on the city for you - maybe that will help.

Bonnie is responding to the prednisone and has had a better day. Spirit struggles to figure out how to use his new foot, but I believe he will be more mobile in a few days.

Outside, blind girl and gimpy are really trying hard to mate...

Glad the prednisone is helping.

The visual I have of blind gril and gimpy...

best wishes for your pup Janet. I love my birds, but my dogs are a whole nother level of love.

Same here. I can't imagine my life without dogs.

Hey guys, I wanted to let you know that Spirit is figuring out how to use his new leg/foot!

I finally got my computer back, so can upload pics again, so I promise to get new pics posted by tomorrow.

Christine, it is cute and disturbing watching Gimpy and BG together.......

Very funny, Marty!

Here is a new picture of Spirit. Between his weight loss, feathers plucked for surgery, and frost bite, he doesn't look so hot. But he is gaining strength and weight daily and we will only go upwards from here. I'll bet by the end of his summer molt, he will be stunning!!
