Good morning and Happy Boxing Day!

For those that were expecting a Spirit update today, I had to reschedule his appointment for tomorrow. We have a bad snowstorm hitting here now and I don't like risking the safety of precious cargo when the roads are really dangerous. So stay tuned for an update tomorrow.

Hope everyone had a great day yesterday and got lots of cool presents.

WAY TO GO BABY!!!!:weee

Iian I totally agree on the safety on the roads. Unless it is an emerency it is never worth risking yourself and the precious cargo!!:highfive:

This storm is moving slowly, so it may be Friday before we can get there. But the vet's office is really cool about it, my vet will be there all week, and another day or two is no biggie for Spirit. He is slowly adjusting to the 1st set of pins being removed, so perhaps he needed the extra time before more support is taken away.

I took new pics of Spirit this morning. Prepare for picture overload!

First is a close up of the leg. It is hard to see the upper rod as his feathers are filling back in nicely, but it is the same as the lower rod with 5 pins instead of 3.

Next is a sequence showing him walk to me without using his wings. He still hasn't quite figured out how to use the new leg.

I think he still finds it easier to walk using his wings, but there is not enough room inside for full wing span.

Our vet appointment got bumped back to tomorrow as this winter storm is taking its time passing us, but I look forward to getting that upper rod removed completely!
