Spirit - the amazing grey dewlap toulouse gander!

I'd like to think my vet has trained me well re: proper care and nutrition for geese. I'm glad your vet agrees.

Hope you can run out this morning and get Baby some hay... even if you have to pay out of the nose for a small bag at Walmart. YAY on Baby getting her voice back!

Good morning, Lydia. I have worked with dozens of vets over the years, and Scott is truly one of the best!!!

Is Missy staying out of trouble today? Did Sammy and Missy try their timothy hay ball yet?
So far so good on Missy,

as far as the hay, not sure they will have to wander back into their house to find it, I'm going to rig up a spot outside to hang it when it warms up a bit, then they'll find it for sure.

Very cool. It is a great idea to make a hanging toy from it. I'd love to see pics if you seeing them eating or playing with it.

I'll have to watch them to get a pic. I did hang it outside a couple hours ago and when I went out to do chores saw Missy over was messing with it. A toy hung on it would be a good idea, I'll move the one hanging in the yard over to it and see what happens.

That's funny. I was thinking that the hay itself, hanging in a bag, would be the fun toy. But adding a toy to the hay bag may just double the fun.

Thank you very much for the new pictures! I'm a lurker here, but I always go through and check out the pics from everyone! I adore Spirit! What a brave guy he is and I keep thinking that in a couple of months, he'll be cruising around the field with his girls, with no issues at all. I can't wait to see even more pictures!

Miss Lydia, I love your geese. I must admit that I obsessively check to see if you have posted any new pictures. I have four production Toulouse myself and LOVE to see pictures of them. Missy is adorable! I think they're just about the most amazing bird around. Good luck getting your geese to try the hay! Mine love to sleep in it and build nests with it, but won't even nibble on it.

My thanks go out to all of you who post your pics on here- Marty, Bhonkers, Iain Utah, Miss Lydia and everyone else I've forgotten!

Heres a pic of the hay bale, I used some of the plastic poultry fencing and tie wrapped it together, first I hung the toy over it then moved it to the side, never did see her or Sam go back to it but the chickens were pecking at it.
