Welcome, goosefan!!

So glad you joined and came out of lurkdom to post on Spirit's thread. Thank you for supporting him through his journey! I have found that the people who have followed Spirit and have rooted for him over the months are the best kind of people, who I want to spend more time chatting with. So please post pics and tell us more about your geese.

Lydia, now I understand. A picture is worth a thousand words. I was thinking of something totally different. Do you have it in an area Missy normally hangs out in?

She goes by here during her travels around the yard so she passes by alot. And she has stopped to check it out and probably even nibbled but my visits outside today have been quick, it's windy and cold out there. lol
next on my shopping list "Bells"

Yuck to windy weather. It's funny introducing bells to geese. They will be so scared the first time it rings when they nibble at it... but they will then work up the nerve to nibble at it again. Eventually, I think they play with it just to get it to jingle.

Um, my geese are STILL scared of the bells. How long until they shed their "pansy feathers" and grow "courage" ones?

Quick Spirit update.... At evening feeding time, I squatted down to say hello to him. He must have thought I wanted to take him inside because he turned on his heel and trotted a few steps away from me, then turned to look at me. When Spirit is feeling hurt, frustrated or down, he is like a little kid who runs to mom to pick him up. Watching him run off, worried that it was time to go inside, means he must be feeling better! I have tapered his meds down to 1cc in the morning. I think I am going to see how he does without meds tomorrow. And unfortunately for him, vet orders are to be inside house at night until hardware removed, because overnight temps are too cold for metal in the skin. So, he will have to go inside in a few hours, like it or not.

He'll be glad he did have to go in after he gets there. And be happy to see everyone in the morning.
