It looks partridge to me, but its hard to tell since its still kind of wet. Super cute!
The bottom photo definitely has more of a blue tone to the colour; in the first photo you posted, as well as the one at the top here, he has more of a yellowish-brown colouring. It could be either the lighting or camera settings, or even computer settings. It can be difficult to get colours to show up correctly--the bane of my picture-taking!
This is splash (the first two photos were George Mihalik's birds, the 3rd is mine):
This is champagne paint (my bird, bred by Deb Steinberg):
See how very different the colouring is?
I love him!
Less than a month ago I got my first pair of silkies. A blue hen and a splash roo. They are so adorable. Immediately I started looking in Michigan for another BBS hen to complete a trio. I found this to be a pretty hard task since you can't sex them for many months and I was only finding chicks. The reason I even got the silkies was because I knew they were so broody. Well, the little hen laid eggs like crazy and once I confirmed fertility I started saving them for when she went broody. I have other hens and NO broody. I was getting obsessed, so I read an ad on Craig's List about a guy who would incubate my eggs for 50 cents ea!!! So I took in 9 eggs yesterday and have started the long wait for my little chicks. Out of nine, I should get a hen....now that's "chicken math!"
