Splash Sumatra pullet or roo?

Hi guys, first off I meant to make my username Birdie (the name of my first chick) but my phone autocorrected it without me noticing. Anyho, I’m brand new to raising chicks. I’ve spent countless hours on this forum though and have learned a ton! So thank you! I have 2 chicks, Birdie and Fifi. Splash Sumatra and white silkie. Was hoping for a splash silkie and thought Birdie was white but ended up splash. Go figure!

Birdie is 5 weeks old and although I know it’s fairly early to tell what sex she is I’m hoping you can give me your input and let me know what you think since I know there’s a lot of experienced owners and breeders here. She is very feisty and bossy but I did get Birdie 2 weeks before getting Fifi. I think that’s just part of her breed but I am worried because her beak is getting a little pink. Might be because she lives inside still since she’s so young and doesn’t get natural sun? Maybe you guys can help by seeing her pictures. Also, some of her tail feathers look pointy but they’re not. Her dark splash markings make a v-shape on her white feathers aka they’re 2-tone. She’s also a hatchery chick...didn’t know there were such things as chicken breeders until after I got them, silly I know. But they’re just pets anyways! Hopefully me next few will be from a good breeder if I can find one local in SoCal. Please tell me your thoughts! I greatly appreciate it!! Thanks!

I think it's probably a pullet but I'm not an expert so...!
At five weeks a roo would probably have a bigger comb than the one in your photo
But then again, it would depend on the breed and i'm not familiar with Splash Sumatra

Thanks for your reply! I am really hoping she (or he) is a female. She’s a hatchery chick so I think it makes it a little harder since I’ve read on this forum that with hatchery chicks there’s a possibility they’re not purebred (in her case pure Sumatra) and could be a mix to some degree. Really appreciate your input! thanks!

To me, she looks like a pullet
I would expect a darker color in the comb if it was a cockerel (Not a red color, because pure Sumatras are supposed to be gypsy-faced, meaning they have purple/black combs and waddles)

Sumatras are slow developing. You'll have to wait a while to know the sex for sure. Watch the tail feathers. Cockerels develop uneven tail feathers and pullets are more even "tail will look square". After the age of 8-10 weeks mind you. As far as her feistiness that will never go away. Sumatras as a very flighty breed, she'll never be a lap bird. She will get use to you and her surroundings in time. But new people or sounds will set her off.

Thanks for all the info! I was hoping her face would darken once she’s in the sun. I thought that’s what I read. Sounds like I misunderstood. I’m glad no one thinks her feathers look pointy. It was a little hard for me to tell although she still is feathering out and is very young. I’ll post pictures of her as she gets older!
