Splash Sumatra pullet or roo?

The info on pullets combs turning red and cockerals combs turn pink is from a website called BYC

I tried to find those posts since I thought I’ve read it before but forgot the details but couldn’t find it. Her comb is pink at the top just slightly. But looks like it’s turning more pink. Almost like it has some little pink polka dots. Her comb is not puffy though...at least not yet. And hopefully never!

Don't get your hopes up just yet. Its still way to early to say pullet or cockerel with 100% certainty. Especially with a pea combed breed and certainly with Sumatras.

Too early to be sure. I'd lean towards pullet at this point but it is really a wait and see game.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed! Anything aside from the tail squaring out and the feathers I should look for? The feathers are actually hard for me to determine what’s pointy vs round. Maybe because she’s a splash and the way her markings are. Maybe I just don’t know what pointy and round feathers look like with Sumatras. If anyone has like a timeline of pics with any Sumatras that would be super helpful!

He’s gorgeous! The boys are always prettier! Birdie’s comb in the last few days I feel like is a little more puffy than it was before. My boyfriend thinks I’m nuts and it looks the same. Maybe I stare at them too much! But hopefully that’s not a sign. Her feathers are very rounded still. I’m getting better at being able to tell the difference (I think!)

Thanks for your kind words! I bought her as a blue and had no clue about Sumatras let alone know there was such thing as a splash Sumatra. I was very confused when I saw white feathers growing in. She’s getting more spotty dotty every day though!

Here’s some updated pics in case anyone cares lol. She’s not happy in her indoor brooder. In her defense she is a little big for it but her little sister screams without her and she’s too small to live outside. They do at least get to hangout in their coop outside during the day though. They look forward to it I know!
