i had one chick suddenlyunable to walk. Now I have a second one showing the same symptoms. Their legs are splayed out to the side and behind them. They drag one leg and hop around. Please help!
They are 3-1/2 weeks old.
I have been giving them b complex vitamins crushedin their water plus tylan and poly visol...all in a syringe fed directly down their throats carefully. They still have an appetite and act normal other then they cant walk.
Can you post some close-up photos of the legs, feet and bottom of feet of the black one?Pl
Plus small doses of sugar water for energy
I have great news I have been giving the affected chicks B complex crushed up in sugar water and also Poly-Vi-Sol and we are on day three with their little legs splinted and they are starting to turn the corner and stand again so I believe it was a B vitamin deficiency I have a third chick acting a little off with its legs today so I went ahead and gave her a dose of the B vitamin with sugar water as well. It looks like I found the problem now I just got to get on top of it. As a preventative I have went ahead and dosed everyone of the babies with the dropper the same B complex and Poly visol in sugar water. I thank you all so very much I love these chickens I don’t wanna lose themYou can find Vitamin B tablets in Wal-Mart, or health food store.
It might be from added vitamins.Yaaaaayyyyyy! So glad they're improving already! Super!
