Spontaneous mega-sized mealie

There are super meal worms and they bite, no kidding I am too afraid to raise those.

Maybe I'll try to breed some large ones, like kizanne suggests.

These don't bite. I have NO idea why a few big ones suddenly appeared. With this tub, the only unusual thing I've done (that I can think of) is I added some slightly-green potato peelings about a month ago. Pretty sure I've not done green before.

What you are thinking of are superworms, not mealworms. They are a completely different species and yes, they bite. They are a bit more difficult to raise than yellow mealworms, which is what she has pictured.

As for your giant mealie, I agree that you should raise it up and attempt to breed it with other larger than average mealies to see what comes of it. And of course take lots of pics

Really? Good to know. And I will never raise them! I never touch the mealworms

anyway because they creep me out.

I use a spoon and I am a wimp. I still enjoy them though
