Those eggs are gorgeous!

those are just pullet eggs. They're dark, but they're on the wimpy side

My mature hens lay a lighter egg, but mucho grande compared those little eggies.

I have a delightful egg customer who tries to pay me extra for the first eggs out of any new girls. She loves how teensy the first eggs are and that the color is always so vibrant. I refuse to take more money because I just can't justify charging more for less food value, but I love it that someone else out there enjoys those first little treasures as much as I do.

As long as they'll still hatch, I'll take 'em!

Aren't the first eggs cute? I think they would be good as hors d'oeuvres. On little crackers maybe.

As always, beautiful eggs, drom! I hope you submit that 2nd pic to the speckled egg contest - it's a really pretty pic!

And - the rest of you all with pretty speckled eggs - hope you submitted your pics to the contest!
