I love it. Reminds me of a quilt my sister made.
Your afghan turned out sooooo beautiful!!!! You are always so sweet & thoughtful and so giving to others. The senior center will be so lucky to have some of your beautiful crocheted items. I bet the rugs were beautiful!Overexposed. The colors are washed out. Sorry about that.
I had a good walk today. I used to make hats and scarves for the homeless family day shelter near where I used to live and have missed having someone to donate to. Today I stopped at a local seniors' center and offered to donate to them and they said, "Yes." I look forward to making things for them. Also, the local Mexican gift store, where I hadn't stopped before, had woven rugs and things on the sidewalk. They were beautiful. The artist was sitting outside and it was nice to speak in person with a fibre artist. He spins, dyes and weaves the rugs. He just got some mohair he is going to spin and dye yarn which he says will be good for crochet. I will have to restrain myself while I use some of my stash.
That was so thoughtful! You'll have to let us know if he makes anything out of them and get a pic to share.Writer-Are you near any of the wildfires in New Mexico and Colorado? May you be well and safe.
Smitty-I gave a bunch of yarn to the man who weaves the rugs. It is a coarser wool than what I use for my hats, scarves and slippers and I thought he might be able to use it.
