Spring Granny Square Swap

Good morning everyone, Sorry for you all that are having storms and of course snow. It is sunny and warm today in the high desert, in fact I'm outside in a minute to work in my garden. DH planted carrots, peas, beets and lettuce yesterday. My radishes, onions, garlic and cabbage are growing. We are almost at the end of our average frost date for our zone8 but it's been known to have frost until the middle of April so may have to cover stuff it it turns that cold. My roses have new leaves and my plum tree has blossoms. I even have daffodils in bloom. Time to plant the tomato seeds I guess. I did a few more squares last night using a new pattern I got off crochetcentral.com. It's an easy one but I want to make sure we have enough squares for the swap in case some that signed up have changed their mind. Will find out when I PM everyone. Have a good day!

I think Inyokern's idea of high desert and Northern Nevada's are very different. We are right at 5000' and we are nowhere near zone 8.

I have all my seeds already but it is just wishful thinking at this point in time. I'm right between you Betty and dascountry when it comes to planting zones. Not much left from the last snow we got and today was pretty nice. It was supposed to be in the 40s today but felt more like high 50s. I needed a sweater for sure but no coat, hat or gloves needed today. That is supposed to change soon. More snow expected on Monday.

ANY BLOCKS THAT DON'T QUITE FIT THE "COOL COLORS" WILL BE SENT TO WRITER OF WORDS FOR HER CLASS AS THEY CAN PUT THEM TO GOOD USE

Well that's good cuz I've nothing to do with these roses I did.

I just like doing them.

The weather here is frightful and cold. We've some snow and folks are like, "oh my snow

". I'm like, for heavens sake, it's just 4" it's not like we're getting buried. Lord have mercy I don't even need to shovel this stuff. Though the cold is what gets to my joints. I may just take a trip to the Farmers market just to get inspired. Lots of home made stuff. You can come home with a few things with just 5 bucks in your wallet. Though egg prices are up there. As well they should be.

Take care folks and remember Crocheting keeps you warm.

Good Morning Swappers~

I wasn't around the house much to have internet access yesterday to post. I think we are doing to see my MIL today, but I'll check back in later tonight. I'll bring my crocheting with me.

Happy Saturday!!!!

Very nice I like it.

Now I decided to go to the farmers market, but visibility was bad so I turned around and went to AC Moore instead. They have yarn 2 for $5. Here are the new colors for you to appraise. Don't want to use the wrong colors you know. I do have more lavender but it's getting boring.

Any more pictures squares to see?

Finally committed to a pattern and it took a couple of tries and some modification to get it down to 6 inches! I have to concentrate very hard to crochet tightly! :) I am thinking same pattern different color schemes...

What beautiful squares you all have.

I have at least 40 squares, but am thinking of starting with a new bunch. I thought they were so nice compared to the ones I did in the swap 2 years ago, and now looking at them, I am not very happy with them. I AM getting a lot of crochet experience. LOL I had put all the finished squares in a plastic bag, but there is dog hair interwoven into

them. It would take quite a while to clean them. I can do, but am thinking of doing a new pattern. I was without a computer for a while as my old monitor blew up, now I have a new monitor. :)

Do we know what the final number is? Writer of words are we sending them to you? After I clean the squares of dog hair I will send the extras. Lots of different patterns. :) and colors

KreativeKat that square looks like one out of the 200 blocks book I have. Way to difficult for me to attempt. Love the colors Kreative Kat and Smittysfarm
