Hey Sunny~ I went to JoAnn's to buy some new yarn to make hats for gifts and I saw the beautiful colors you ordered in there and they are so nice. I didn't buy any yarn for the spring swap yet. Just trying to make it through one project at a time now.

That's ok we have plenty of time. The only reason I ordered mine already was because I was procrastinating on house work.

Too funny!!!

I thought I was the only one that procrastinated on housework. I finished the machine quilting on my daughters quilt except for the four corner blocks that I intended to free motion quilt a heart. Well I can't get it right. My free motion is to darn free so I've decided to applique hearts in the four corners instead. I have to unpick a corner though, darn it. I have some more crocheting added to the present afghan I'm working on. All I'm doing now is joining the blocks together. I have the 97 blocks done. We mailed off the pink baby afghan this morning. DH's granddaughter had her little girl yesterday. Another great grandbaby for him (3) I have none on my side. I have a package at the PO and I'm hoping it's my yarn I ordered. It may be the replacement brushes for my rug shampooer. Will find out tomorrow.

Yarn sounds like more fun but the brushes will come in handy. I've never tried free motion quilting. They make it look so easy on TV.

I do a lot of applique on quilts though. I'd love to see a pic of it when you're done.

Congrats on the new baby in the family!

Oh no you two are NOT the only ones to procrastinate house work. I use Facebook & BYC to procrastinate ALL the time.

I am QUEEN of Procrastinating!!!!

I have to agree w/ Sunny that yarn does sound a lot more fun. Betty I love to hear about all the projects you are working on. You are amazing! I can't wait to see a pic of this quilt. I can't wait to have time to try quilting. Congratulations on the new addition to your family!!!

Well, I still haven't got to the PO because mail goes out late here and I want to be able to get my mail out on the road. My mailbox is about a mile from the house so only want to make one trip. Baby chicks are fine and growing like weeds. Yes, I hope it's the yarn also but I have a 15 year old German Shepherd that is having accidents while asleep so I need the brushes for the shampooer also. As long as she sleeps on her bed it's all right since I can wash it. I refuse to make her sleep someplace else.

My free motion quilting isn't the best. I finally decided to applique red hearts in the four corners of the quilt and then stitch around them. I was hoping for flowers but I couldn't get them to suit me using free motion. I guess I need more practice. LOL

Oh poor Jada! My girl that I lost last year was having the same problem. Her kidneys were failing (a common problem is large breeds) and she couldn't walk very well towards the end either.

I'm glad you are letting her stay where she is so comfortable.

That free motion quilting sounds tougher than the ads say. I think I'll take a class before I spend any money on attachments.

One more thing to add to my bucket list. My hubby says at this rate we can't ever die. We have too much to do! I always laugh and say that I don't think it works that way. But we will have fun trying to get through that list.

Thank you for taking such good care of your dog. The fact that she is so old means she's been loved and cared for.

Jada was my second oldest son's dog and he had to move and couldn't take her so he gave her to me. I have had her now for about 10 years but my son passed away 7 years ago. She will be missed when she's gone not just for herself, she's been a great dog, but because she's also a link to my son.

The package wasn't my yarn darn it. It was the new brushes for the shampooer as I thought. Hope the yarn comes soon. The attachment for free motion quitling is nothing but the darner that comes with machines that have a feed dog that drops down. I think I paid $16.00 for mine because myt machine at the time didn't have one. There is a coil attachment that runs about $7.00. I can do the free motion stippling but it's the shapes like hearts and flowers that are hard. It just takes practice. I took a class a couple of years ago but I don't keep up the practice.
