This is for anyone that looses any part of their flock, NEVER feel bad about showing your emotions over the loss of (just a chickrn or what ever.) God gave us animals to care for and we can not control all that happens in life. I 'll take any one of you as a friend because you have the type of heart the world needs. And yes, we feel your loss also.

I've got the first eggs from my two legbars today. Hatched 9-10-15. The other two are from the Trader Joes hens

I'll probably try to hatch both types for April hatch. All have legbar rooster. :yesss:

I'm so sorry for your loss. Some people don't understand the love we have for our chickens. I get hateful comments also for being attached to mine. Just ignore them. I've had neighbors dogs kill my adult chickens. I rarely let mine out anymore. Only if I'm with them.

Well you are certainly with friends. A feral cat climbed the maple in my yard and squeezed through a less than 6 inch place near my roof and killed a total of 7 chicks (some I am sure were trampled by the others but I am still holding the feral cat responsible). this happened last night. my 4 year old son was devastated to learn that only one of his Buffs had survived and that his feather legged bantam had been killed.
