Squashed shell/egg? - day 19

I’m so sorry :hugs we couldn’t save this chick.
Watching broody hens with their chicks drinking, eating, dust bathing, and playing is an incredible joy.

Yet at times, broody hens can be exasperating. They insist on hatching where everyone else prefers to lay eggs, or a newbie broody jumps in excitement rather than sit quietly on hatching eggs.

I hope the joy of watching your broody hen raise her chicks balances the loss of this one. And if you have time to post a pic of them, I’d be grateful. :jumpy :hugs
Here’s a pic of the chicks, I have never seen a Barnevelder chick so yellow before 😆

Ya, I'm incubating for the first time to, I hope I get as good hatch rates as this! I do it all the time to, (post on zombie threads) I just like to remind people so they don't wait for someone to answer, haha.
