Mad Hatter in the front and Pippi Longshot in the back are both cockerels. This is at 6 weeks, so a couple weeks older than yours. I'll have to see if I have pictures at 4 or 5 weeks.

I always forget what combs look like on chicks... I have been raising them for about 5 years and I always seem to never be able to sex them :gigi wanted to try vent sexing because I've watched videos but I haven't done it yet on any of my day old chicks.

He is a Lavender Orpington. I'm pretty excited about both of them. I have wanted a Buff Orpington rooster for a long time, since I have BO hens and they are my faves. I'd like them to give me my next little ones. Pippi L was the only surviving egg in a hatching egg order, so I bought three Lavender Orps to encourage him to hatch. Having one be a cockerel is exciting because now I can breed them too. I will just have to work out the quarrels and living situations when the time comes. They all get along great now.

I just vent sexed 3 of the 9 chicks. So far 3 are female, the ones I want to keep. I thought vent sexing would be insanely hard... It's not
