Squishy crop!

No luck on finding a video. I can go try and set one up while I vomit mine (if I need to again). You hold the body kinda like how you would hold a football with two hands. I am worried about popping her too!!!! I am not sure what to do also about nothing coming out. When I did mine at 845 this morning, some stuff came up but not all of it.

Ok I tried to make a video, but the darn thing timed out!

I also gave her some baking soda in water... it gets bubbly in them and helps to flush out the crop. Her crop is mostly empty now so hopefully it will be ok.

Hi JakRat,

Thanks for trying to make the video. Can you tell me how long I should hold her upside down? Also, how hard should I squeeze? Today, I got about a teaspoon up so I thought I was doing it the right way, but she produced nothing more. I'm sure I'm not doing it correctly and that is most of the problem. When I brought her upright she was a bit stunned, and then came to - but it worried me.

I'm sure she sees me coming, rolls her eyes and thinks "oh brother, here she comes again..." she is really good natured about the whole thing.

here ya go!

I hope this helps. If you need any other help just let me know. I think I can get my husband to film one more time lol.

Well she seems to be doing better this morning... I heard her jumping all around the bathtub sigh... Her crop was still a bit big and squishy, but I think that is because I have been giving her only V8 juice (low sodium). Wow did she ever love that stuff!!! Her droppings were interesting. Some were REALLY gritty like undigested food, and others were red (V8 juice). So I am a bit at a loss as to what the problem was, but I am going to continue to watch her and see if her crop stays down.

I am not sure how much sodium the low sodium V8 has, but be aware that chicken feed is usually 1% OR LESS salt...they can die from sodium overload fairly easily. I would stop the V8...give something else?? Sorry I don't have suggestions though.

So I went back out to feel her crop and it was still a bit squishy. I am starting to think that now maybe I might have been over reacting. I didnt feel the same grit in there that I did before and she is eating drinking and pooping. SO that means that stuff is getting through right? If it is just a yeast infection in her crop then that sholdnt stop her from digesting food right? sigh I am so confused.
